Will Claye Releases First Music AlbumBy Adam Kopet, DyeStat Editor At 25-years old, Will Claye has already competed in two Olympic Games, winning three medals in the long and triple jumps. Now, in addition to his athletic pursuits, he has released a music album, "Look What You Created." The songs span the spectrum of rap and hip-hop with influences from reggae and classical jazz, according to Steve Luke of NBC San Diego. Claye grew up singing in the church choir and has spent time recording songs in a friend's studio, never with the intention of releasing an album. "I let some of my friends hear them and they were like 'Dang, this is really good, you should put it out,'" Claye said. Claye's songs, available on iTunes and SoundCloud, have been listened to hundreds of thousands of times. It has reached a point where Claye's music is more than just a hobby. "I want to be seen as a person who does these different things, I run track, I make music, I design clothes and I think we all as people are more complex than just one thing." More news |
