HOKA ONE ONE New Jersey New York Track Club Team Breaks World Record In the 4x800 at BU Last Chance MeetPublished by
HOKA One One New Jersey New York Track Club Teammates Band Together for 7:11.30 4x800 WR By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor The BU Last Chance Meet closed with a bang Sunday. The HOKA One One New Jersey New York Track Club team of Joe McAsey, Kyle Merber, Chris Giesting and Jesse Garn went nearly two seconds under the indoor world record in the 4x800 relay, clocking 7:11.30. They were one of three teams to go under the 2014 record of 7:13.11 set by a group of U.S. All-Stars (Richard Jones, David Torrence, Duane Solomon and Erik Sowinski).
Also under the previous record was the Atlanta Track Club team of Brandon Hazouri, Patrick Peterson, Edose Ibadin and Brandon Lasater. That group ran 7:11.84. And the third team that went under the record included a surprising appearance by Olympic 1,500-meter champion Matthew Centrowitz running on the anchor leg. The District of Columbia TC clocked 7:12.25.
