Sintayehu Vissa, a sophomore at Ole Miss representing Italy, became the first female athlete in program history to win the women's 1,500-meter title at the Southeastern Conference Championships, clocking 4:08.72 at the Ole Miss Track and Field Complex in Oxford, Mississippi. Vissa and Mario Garcia Romo, representing Spain, became the first teammates to sweep the 1,500 championships in the same year since 2002.
