Ayden Owens-Delerme, a Nike professional athlete representing Puerto Rico, produced a world-leading 8,732 points to secure victory in the men's elite decathlon at the 64th Mt. SAC Relays Presented by Nike at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, Calif. Owens-Delerme won the elite decathlon at Mt. SAC in 2022 with 8,528 points, before achieving his previous-best 8,532 points with a fourth-place finish at the World Athletics Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field in Oregon. Owens-Delerme, who won the 100-meter dash in a wind-legal 10.31 seconds, prevailed in the long jump with a wind-aided 25-6 (7.77m), triumphed in the shot put with a mark of 53-4.25 (16.26m) and emerged victorious in the pole vault with a 16-8.75 (5.10m) clearance, ascended to the No. 17 all-time global competitor in the decathlon. He also eclipsed the meet record of 8,727 points established in 1992 by American athlete Dave Johnson.
